The Chicago Teachers Union finally has a new contract. After nearly a year of negotiations, the Chicago Board of Education voted 19-0 (with one member abstaining) to approve the contract worth $1.5 billion over four years through June 2028. The terms are retroactive dating back

@ChiPubSchools Update - the Board has extended the deadline for Honorary Student Board Member applications until May 12th. The student will be part of the Student Voice Roundtable & receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Lots of praise & recognition to all the awesome teachers out there. The Board celebrates the accomplishments of the newly National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs). @CTULocal1 @ChiPubSchools Chicago has one of the highest numbers of NBCTs in any district in the nation.

The April Progress Monitoring Presentation: Exceptional and Diverse Talent Targeted Priority is given & it highlights a 5-tier approach called "Teach Chicago Strategy," which is meant to tackle systemic talent challenges. @ChiPubSchools

After approving the public agenda items the board moved onto the resolutions & reports. The resolutions that needed members to vote, were all approved.
